Catch Rates
According to data provided by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Everglades Water Conservation Areas (WCAs) consistently have some of the highest catch rates for largemouth bass in Florida. What is a "catch rate"?  Quite simply, it is the number of largemouth bass an angler has caught per hour of fishing.  For example, if you fished for four hours and caught two bass, your catch rate would be 0.50 bass per hour.  The average catch rate for all of Florida is 0.25 and the FWC considers any thing above 0.5 to be an indicator of a high quality largemouth bass fishery.
The table below compares largemouth bass catch rates for the top-ten bass fishing areas, as selected by FWC Web Site.  The L-67A Canal is our primary fishing area in WCA 3 – and it sure compares well
